With his goal from the spot against Brighton, Manchester City star Erling Haaland became the first player to reach 100 Premier League goal involvements in under 100 games.
It has largely been a season to forget for Manchester City, but that doesn’t mean it has been entirely without achievements.
Star striker Erling Haaland has racked up plenty of them since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in 2022, and he now has another to add to the collection.
With his early penalty in Man City’s match against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, Haaland recorded his 100th Premier League goal involvement. He has reached the landmark in just 94 games.

Not only does it make Haaland the fastest player to reach a century of goals and assists in the competition, but he is also the first to make it to three figures in fewer than 100 appearances.
Alan Shearer did so in exactly 100 games (79 goals, 21 assists), while no other player has done so in fewer than 116 appearances. That was achieved by Eric Cantona (58 goals, 42 assists) and Mohamed Salah (73 goals, 27 assists).
The man Haaland ultimately replaced at City, Sergio Agüero, took 118 games to reach his century (77 goals, 23 assists), which was quicker than Thierry Henry (121 games), Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink (122 games), Les Ferdinand (126 games) and Andrew Cole (127 games).

It always seemed likely Haaland would reach 100 goal involvements pretty quickly after taking to the Premier League like a duck to water, scoring a record 36 league goals in his first campaign at City as well as managing eight assists. He followed that up with a further 27 goals and five assists last season.
Haaland sits on 21 goals and three assists in the Premier League in 2024-25, putting him on 84 goals in the competition so far. So, he is just 16 away from 100 goals in the competition, so is also likely to be comfortably the fastest to reach three figures.
Having signed an astonishing contract extension with City that keeps him tied to the club until 2034, who knows how many goal involvements the exceptional Norwegian will end up with in England.
City will be looking to put up a better title fight next season, and having Haaland in rip-roaring form will be key to that.
