Thursday on FNC’s “America’s Newsroom,” Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) declined to support former Fox News host Pete Hegseth, President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for defense secretary.

The Iowa Republican said that the vetting process needed to continue.

“I did have a very long, lengthy discussion with Pete yesterday,” she said. “I appreciate his service to the nation. I, too, am also a combat veteran. So we talked about a number of those issues and will continue with the vetting process. I think that is incredibly important. So again, all I’m saying is we had a very frank and productive discussion. And I know we will continue to have conversation in the upcoming months.”

Declines to give support but didn’t decline to vote for him. There will be a whole lotta attention seeking going on before the hearing.

To: ChicagoConservative27

Ernst wants to become what is called a virtuous objector, thereby gaining credibility for her pet cause.

Let’s do it. She’s part of the Mitch McConnell cabal and needs to be sent home.

put her on notice that Iowa wants a new conservative to replace her. No more games!

Trump should leak out he is considering relocating some military units from say, Iowa, to say Oklahoma, or Texas...potentially devastating that state economically...

Yes,

Because she believes that she is entitled to that position.

Joni Ernst ousted from Senate leadership team, defeated by Sen. Tom Cotton

by Valeree DunnWed, November 13th 2024 at 9:43 PM

U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, lost her bid Wednesday to lead the Senate as Republican Conference chair, falling to Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark. This means she won’t hold a role in Senate leadership.

It’s up to Thune to get this done. All these confirmation hearings are the first round of tests that will see if the GOP is going to help change America, or stand in the way. Either way, Trump is not going to let this term slip away due to the bad actors in Washington.

Hey, I'm in favor of women in combat... so long as they are made draft eligible...

Kari Lake was born and raised in Iowa

What if she returns home to primary Joni Ernst in 2026 and take her Senate seat?

Is she the one pushing duhsaintis? Or maybe she wants the position herself?

She is part of the problem.

From wiki.
“In an interview with Time Magazine in 2014, Ernst said that she was sexually harassed in the military, saying, “I had comments, passes, things like that” that she was able to stop, and said she would support removing investigation and prosecution of sexual assault cases from the chain of command.”
