Elon Musk's mercurial 79-year-old father has made a shocking claim about his son's musician ex-girlfriend, Claire Boucher – better known by her stage name, Grimes.

Boucher, 37, shares three children with Musk, X Æ A-Xii, 4, Exa Dark Sideræl, 3, and Techno Mechanicus, 2.

Now, in an exclusive interview, Errol Musk alleges that Boucher wanted to tattoo one of his grandchildren.

'She wanted to tattoo the baby's head… when he was a baby. Put a tattoo on his head. You don't do that. She is a little nuts,' claimed Errol in a sit-down interview in his South Africa home.

Errol's allegations emerge after Boucher revealed a shock health diagnosis and her childhood struggle with 'weird obsessions and motivations'.

In an Instagram post on Saturday, Boucher criticized the 'uninformed social media health subculture' that, she says, appears geared toward 'making people worse.' She also revealed that she has been diagnosed with 'ADHD/autism' and suspects that she's dyslexic.

This is not the first time that Errol has made this claim about Boucher.

In October 2024, Errol told British broadcaster Andrew Eborn that Boucher 'wanted to tattoo' X Æ A-Xii, now 4, 'when he was a baby.' But Elon, according to Errol, would have hated the idea, because Elon has no tattoos himself and believes 'the body is a temple'.

Boucher did not respond to the Daily Mail's request for comment regarding Errol's claim.

However, Musk and Boucher have seemingly joked about the issue in the past.

In May 2020, Musk tweeted the first picture of a newborn X and used a photo filter that gave his son face tattoos.

One anonymous Reddit user has suggested that Errol somehow misinterpreted his son’s joke – and erroneously believes that Boucher truly wanted to tattoo the child.

Indeed, Errol’s criticism of Boucher is just one of many he made when speaking with the Daily Mail.

It was just one of many criticisms that Errol leveled at Boucher when speaking with the Daily Mail.

'I think her [music] is terrible. But as somebody pointed out to me, she gets 50 million views. I don't think it's worth watching,' Errol said.

He also blames Boucher for his grandchildren's ‘very weird’ names.

‘It's not Elon's work,’ he claimed, defending his son. ‘He was trying to make his wife or girlfriend happy. He never married her.'

Musk and Boucher reportedly dated from 2018 to 2021 and then kept seeing each other on and off until 2023.

They have recently been locked in a very public feud over their children's care.

On September 7, 2023, Musk sued for custody of their children in Texas, where several of his businesses are headquartered.

Boucher then filed her own parental rights suit a few weeks later in a San Francisco court. She claimed that Musk was stopping her from seeing their children and that he had even prevented them from visiting their terminally ill maternal grandmother.

The parties settled their dispute in August 2024 without publicly sharing the outcome.

Boucher claimed the ordeal almost left her 'bankrupt' and unable to make new music. In February, Grimes sent a now-deleted message to Musk on X (formerly Twitter), appealing to him to help her and claiming that one of their children was in 'medical crisis.'

'Plz respond about our child's medical crisis,' she wrote. 'I am sorry to do this publicly but it is no longer acceptable to ignore this situation. This requires immediate attention.'

'I'm not giving any details but he won't respond to texts, call or emails and has skipped every meeting and our child will suffer life long impairment if he doesn't respond asap, so I need him to f***ing respond and if I have to apply public pressure then I guess that's where we are at,' she added.

Musk has not yet publicly responded to Boucher’s requests.
