Like a scene straight out of a horror movie a 7-year-old boy in Hawaii has been left unable to walk after being struck by his neighbor's car while playing in his driveway.

The horrifying footage captured on CCTV shows the moment Taurean Reign Denoto was abruptly hit by an out-of-control car and went face-first through a wall of his family home in Hilo, Hawaii.

The boy was severely injured and his leg almost completely amputated, but miraculously he survived.

'Everything was severed except for one artery,' his father, Ralph Hilton, told KITV.

'I had to put his foot in my pocket to carry him outside.'

Taurean Reign Denoto, 7, faces intense injuries and the possibility of never being able to walk again after being struck by a neighbor's car while playing outside of his family's Hawaii home

The 71-year-old man was arrested after picking up a neighbor and driving straight into the family home with Taurean still attached to his front bumper

Earlier this month, a 71-year-old man who lived across the street pulled into the family's shared driveway to pick up their next door neighbor.

But before their neighbor even fully got into the vehicle, the elderly man hit the gas - striking Taurean before driving through the front of the home.

This was all while the boy was still attached to the front bumper of the car.

His mother, Alisha Hilton, knew that time was the most important factor for her son's survival and quickly took matters into her own hands.

Thankfully, she works as surgical technologist and spewed out orders to her husband after the crash - including the desperate need for tourniquets (a strip of cloth or a band of rubber, that is wrapped tightly around a leg or an arm to stop bleeding after an injury.)

'I listened to her, we got him tourniqueted off and he lived,' Ralph added.

It is every parent's worst nightmare, but his mother was able to properly give her son the crucial care he needed in those first few moments.

'If we didn't act fast and know what to do, he would've bled out before EMTs got there,' Alisha told KITV.

The boy also suffered severed nerves in his wrist and a major concussion.

Doctors were able to reattach his foot after he was life-flighted to Queens Medical Center in O'ahu.

He underwent his eighth surgery on Friday with no word from medical personnel if he'll ever be able to walk again.

'He's going to have extensive deformities for the rest of his life from this,' Alisha added.

'We're trying to keep his spirits up and keep him as active as we can so he doesn't lose muscle function and mobility in the rest of his body.'

The family said that the 71-year-old man, who remains unnamed, recently had hip surgery and was not supposed to be behind the wheel in the first place.

'I'm pretty sure your foot don't work that well when you have a hip replacement,' Ralph told KITV.

'I'm thinking his foot fell off the brake and onto the gas pedal and he couldn't lift it off, and once he started bouncing through our house when he hit the house, he definitely can't lift his foot off the gas pedal.'

Police arrested the man for negligent injury.

Taurean is looking at a future with a long road of surgeries.

But he's described as his family as a tough kid with a good spirit.

'He's determined. He's an active boy,' Alisha said. 'He plays sports and he's not gonna let this stop him.'

Neighbors of the family created a GoFundMe to help raise money for hospital bills, rehab and food.

The GoFundMe page also includes continuous updates of Taurean's status.

The day after the accident, an update was posted to the page which said that the boy was in a medically induced coma in the ICU to keep his foot as still as possible to heal and restore blood flow.

It was noted that other surgeries will take place in the near future - including an operation to reattach all severed tendons and ligaments and an internal fixation for broken bones.

The most recent update on the GoFundMe page was on Friday - noting that he is doing well and will be moving to another hospital on Monday where he will then remain for the foreseeable future.

But for right now, the family is asking the public for prayers for his continued healing.
