Sony’s PlayStation State of Play is airing on September 3, right after Gamescom 2026. We’re expecting a close look at what Sony has to offer for the rest of 2026 and beyond.

The showcase will likely run for around 60 minutes as they show gameplay reveals, announcements, and updates from studios around the world. Sony has plenty of upcoming games under their belt, such as Until Dawn 2Silent Hill Townfall, and God of War Laufey so here’s hoping we’ll get a fresh look at them. Here’s every announcement and trailer from the whole showcase.

All announcements

Resident Evil film

Zach Cregger, the director behind Weapons and Barbarian, turns his eye for slow-building dread on Resident Evil, and the film retells the outbreak that flattens Raccoon City during the events of Resident Evil 2.

New footage follows Austin Abrams’s Bryan, a medical courier who picked the worst possible night to make a delivery, and shows infected bodies hurling themselves off rooftops while the snow turns red beneath him.

Resident Evil hits IMAX screens exclusively in theatres on September 18, 2026.

Marvel’s Wolverine

Marvel’s Wolverine has been Insomniac’s worst-kept secret for years, and this last look before launch finally lets Logan share the frame with the mutants who shaped him, Jean Grey and Mystique among them, trading quips before things inevitably turn violent.

What’s new here is seeing that ensemble in motion, plus a glimpse of a temple standoff that hints at just how far from home this story wanders. Marvel’s Wolverine launches September 15, 2026, exclusively on PS5.

Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted

Sucker Punch already gave Atsu her revenge story in the base game, and Echoes of Sekigahara pulls her back into it by splitting the action between present-day Ezo and flashbacks to her time fighting through the Battle of Sekigahara, where a figure named Nagato drags up her past.

The trailer’s biggest swing is a total surprise though, since Jin Sakai wanders back onto the field, tying this game directly to Ghost of Tsushima. Alongside the story expansion comes Most Wanted, a roguelike survival mode where players take bounties and unlock new fighters like Oyuki and Nagato.

Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted arrive October 1, 2026, on PS5.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance

Capcom teased Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance back at Summer Game Fest with promises of a floating locale called the Skybound Eyrie and the return of Elder Dragons like Kushala Daora, though most specifics stayed under wraps.

Today’s footage finally delivered them, and it dropped hunters into a sun-bleached oasis where a winged elder dragon squared off against a shaggy, lightning-veined beast that looked built for chaos.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance launches in 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Metro 2039

The Stranger already had a name and a mission when Metro 2039 was first revealed, tasked with descending back into the tunnels to face Hunter, once Artyom’s ally and now the fascist Führer ruling over the Novoreich.

Today’s footage took us through flooded Moscow ruins and a gutted apartment where a corpse slumps against peeling wallpaper, gas mask still fogging with every breath. The gunplay stayed grounded and mechanical, all ticking pressure gauges and glowing ammo counters, which is exactly the claustrophobia longtime fans signed up for.

Metro 2039 launches February 4, 2027, on PS5.

Man Eater 2

Tripwire’s original Maneater let players terrorize the Gulf Coast as an evolving bull shark, and the sequel picks up that exact fantasy while raising the stakes considerably.

Today’s reveal showed off a resort town built for chaos, complete with waterslides, a boardwalk, and a Poseidon statue watching over swimmers who have no idea what’s circling beneath them. The gameplay glimpses went further still, teasing a monstrous armored crab lurking in volcanic caverns and a customizable mini-sub darting through lava-lit tunnels.

Co-developed with Demiurge Studios, Maneater 2 looks built to widen the food chain rather than just refresh the graphics and is coming in 2027 on PS5.

We’ll keep this section updated as new reveals are shown in the official livestream.
