That’s No Moon, the independent studio founded by ex Infinity Ward and Naughty Dog developers, has unveiled their first game – and it’s an action title called Crossfire.

The narrative-driven tactical action game follows mercenary Layla Qassem as a mission in the Atlas Mountains turns into a fight for survival, forcing her to form an uneasy alliance with Tier-One Operator Delroy Cross.

The reveal trailer showcased a mix of stealth, gunfights, traversal, and cinematic story moments as Layla and Delroy navigate the dangers of the Atlas Mountains.

According to the studio, what begins as a routine operation quickly escalates into a battle against an existential threat. Stranded and ideologically opposed, Layla and Delroy must put their differences aside if they hope to survive.

That’s No Moon says Crossfire combines cinematic storytelling with stealth and tactical combat. Central to that vision is a new system called Adaptive Cover, which dynamically changes how Layla interacts with her surroundings during combat and traversal.

Game director Jacob Minkoff explained that Adaptive Cover allows the protagonist to respond to terrain and enemy positions in real time, adjusting her stance to maintain cover as situations change.

“When we started That’s No Moon, we had the vision to combine cinematic storytelling with grounded, innovative stealth combat,” the studio said. “Crossfire is the culmination of that ambition.”

Founded in 2021, That’s No Moon was created by developers with experience across some of the industry’s biggest franchises. Crossfire is the studio’s first announced game, but a release date has yet to be announced.
