Ex-Governor Andrew Cuomo Wants to Be Mayor of New York City

Andrew Cuomo wants to stage a comeback. He has his eyes on Gracie Mansion.

You might think that would be a step down from being Governor of New York, but arguably it is a much better job with more actual power. If controlling money and power are your thing, few jobs are better than the Mayor of New York City.

Even before news broke of New York City Mayor Eric Adams' indictment, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo was already signaling to allies that he was preparing to run for mayor, according to two people familiar with the matter. https://t.co/9aZi9MsSHO— Axios (@axios) September 26, 2024

A lot of people have been wondering about the goings-on in the Big Apple, with the indictment of Eric Adams and powerful city officials resigning. Why would the feds be going after Adams, and who does the Democrat establishment really want in the position?

To answer the first question is a no-brainer:

If you’re wondering why the system turned on one of its own…pic.twitter.com/ypruhcJles— Tomi Lahren (@TomiLahren) September 26, 2024

And we just may have the answer to the second question: Andrew Cuomo, although there are probably competing factions.

You may recall that Cuomo was forced out of his job as governor due to being a jerk with women, but that always struck me as a power play on the part of his enemies. Democrats are usually fine with people being degenerates, and Cuomo is much less of one than the parade of people who enjoyed going to Diddy's parties, which is a whole lot of them.

Even before news broke of New York City Mayor Eric Adams' indictment, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo was already signaling to allies that he was preparing to run for mayor, according to two people familiar with the matter.

Why it matters: From a star in Democratic politics to a disgraced governor pushed to resign amid a sexual harassment scandal, Cuomo's dramatic rise and fall could soon have another chapter.

People who hung out with Jeffrey Epstein and Harvey Weinstein and admired Matt Lauer aren't saints, so Cuomo's sins were used as an excuse and weren't the reason he was tossed out. And it's pretty clear that Cuomo knows how this game is played and is calling in chits he built up to get back into power.

Catch up quick: Cuomo announced in 2021 that he would resign as governor after an independent investigation found he sexually harassed multiple women.

  • In January 2022, a sex crime charge against Cuomo was dismissed after the Albany County District Attorney said that while the complaint was "credible," they did not have the necessary evidence.
  • In response to the investigation, Cuomo filed a state ethics compliant later that year against New York Attorney General Letitia James, accusing her of intentionally mishandling the investigation.
  • He sued James and her office earlier this year, requesting dozens of witness statements from the probe into him.
  • The Department of Justice found Cuomo and his executive staff maintained a sexually hostile work environment and violated federal retaliation rules, but the agency reached an agreement to resolve the claims, which Cuomo denies.

I don't have any insights into who Cuomo really pissed off enough to warrant the hit job in 2021, but you can be sure that a scion of the Cuomo family has a lot of sway with powerful people and more than a little dirt on many of them. He's given many favors over the years, and in New York City favors are a currency that can purchase almost anything.

New York is still the center of the financial world; it has the most billionaires in the world, with over a hundred, and it is a far nicer place to live than Albany if you live to be around wealth and power.

Don't be surprised if Cuomo's star rises as Letitia James' star falls. I wouldn't bet against a Cuomo victory--or against Cuomo having something to do with the scandals in New York City.

I just posted on a thread about Hillary the Hag calling us Deplorables again, that we may slipping into a new Groundhog Day but this time without Andie MacDowell.

So now the return of the hero Cuomo?

I guess if I see Obama hanging around the White House it will be a sure thing.
