A Disneyland performer who portrayed Peter Pan opened up about his experiences with a theme park regular who faced backlash over her obsession with the character.
In a video posted on TikTok, Dylan Gadeke detailed several interactions with content creator Toni Kulusich, 27, while he played Peter Pan at Disneyland from 2014 to 2021.
Kulusich has been seen chasing the character around the park and hanging around several different Peter Pan performers for years.
Gadeke defended her actions as a “little extra” but said Kulusich has done nothing wrong.
While Gadeke admitted her behavior did at times make him feel “a little awkward and uncomfortable,” he added that at “no point did it cross any boundaries of what a character interaction should look like at Disneyland.”
“She was very enthusiastic about meeting the character,” he explained. “Maybe a little more so than most, but it never crossed the boundary of trying to get to know the performer.”
Gadeke also encouraged people to “cut off the supply” of attention Kulusich has been getting.
“We need to end the discourse and harassment in the online toxicity that’s being aimed at her, she’s doing nothing wrong,” the performer said.
Gadeke went on to detail his interactions with an adult “stalker” at Disneyland who “did cross the boundary,” revealing a series of disturbing experiences he had with the woman.
The performer said he first became concerned when she described his dog to him in “very specific detail,” despite never sharing those details publicly.
“Very shortly after, I found her waiting at the cast member parking lot for me,” the ex-Pan said. “For about a month she was there every shift waiting.”
He added that she never spoke to him, “just watched and stared,” which did not make him feel safe.
“The straw that really broke the camel’s back for me was my family came to visit me, which is always really endearing,” he continued.
“And she somehow figured out who my family was and decided to follow them around in the park for a day.
“Now that is an example of harassment. Because that guest was trying to get to know the performer and not the character.”
Gadeke said he completely changed the way he did his job after the experience, playing games with kids instead of doing traditional meet-and-greets.
For her part, Kulusich has hit back at her critics, saying the visits bring her joy and that she has no plans to stop.
“Seeing him makes me happy; dressing up makes me happy; going to Disneyland once a week makes me happy,” Kulusich told WIRED.
“If people are going to hate on me, I’m not going to let it stop me. Because I know I’m not doing anything wrong.”
Kulusich did admit that she has a connection with the character in green tights.
“I do think people know that Peter Pan and I have a special friendship,” she said.
