Andy Stanley’s North Point Community Church continues to be a safe haven for LGBTQ-affirming pastors and leaders to work directly against the cause of Christ and the gospel to gay people, and this is no more clear than the recent news that Renovus is sponsoring ‘brunch’ at an upcoming Pride parade.

Renovus Network is a pro-LGBTQ+ advocacy group whose mission is to “Connect LGBTQ+ individuals to reclaim and develop their relationship with Jesus” and envision “a world where no one has to choose between their faith and sexual orientation or gender identity.” They believe that homosexuality is not a sin and instead is something to be celebrated and integrated fully into the church.

One of Renovus’ board members is Debbie Causey, a gay-affirming North Point Community Church pastor and the Director of Care Network.

She has been with North Point for over 25 years and is in a very high position within the 30,000-member multisite. She previously revealed that she sometimes counsels parents with gay kids not to attend their church because it isn’t affirming enough and isn’t a “safe place,” rejoiced at creating a new gay-affirming ministry, and recommended an all-LGBTQ- counseling collective for children.

Another is Sandi Harman-Waldrop, a long-time member of North Point who is also gay-affirming. She became a leader of North Point’s Parent Connect ministry (an LGBTQ-affirming family ministry at North Point for parents with children who are struggling and confused about their sexuality) after her son came out as gay in 2011.

Renovus was co-founded by Gregory Cook, a leader with the North Point Community Church production team who claims Andy Stanley affirmed him in his homosexuality, and Brian Nietzel, who ‘married’ his husband a few years back and had his same-sex wedding celebration at Harman-Waldrop’s home, where members and leaders of North Point attended. He was one of two gay-married men who spoke at North Point’s recent Embracing the Journey conference.

Other past leaders of Renovus include gay-affirming ‘Embracing the Journey’ founder Greg McDonald, who is a ministry partner and leader of North Point Church, and Cortland Russell, an openly unrepentant gay man who North Point church baptized. Cortland says it was Gregory Cook who taught him to be a queer Christian, and it was the three leaders at North Point, Gregory Cook, Debbie Causey, and Sandi Harman-Waldrop, who encouraged him to be baptized.

So, what is Renovus up to? They are hosting a “Pride brunch” in October for Atlanta Pride.

This is partnership and conjunction with Q Christian Fellowship, the world’s most prominent gay-affirming Christian activist and advocacy group and whose conferences several North Point pastors have previously attended and have spoken at.

It’s unknown how many congregants at North Point church will be marching in the Pride parade, but we have imagined it will be a few.

After all, last year, Courtney Fitzgerald, the assistant to the Lead Pastor at Decatur City Church, one of North Point Church’s main campuses, attended the Pride Parade and wished everyone a happy Pride.

This status was then “liked” by a dozen past and present North Point staffers and pastors, including:

Pastor Jenny Boyett. She has spent over 17 years at North Point Community Church, most recently as the Associate Director of Adult Ministries and then the Director of Author Support and Leader Training. She was a speaker at North Point’s all-gay-affirming family conference.

Beth Chadwick. The Children’s Ministry Director for nearly four years.

Tish Dyer. A Coach in North Point’s preschool ministry for over 27 years.

Ericah Stokes. Tthe former Executive Assistant to lead pastor Samer Massad and the current Digital Services Coordinator at North Point Digital. She’s one of the same people who celebrated after a young man from North Point Church came out as a “transgendered woman” (along with about nine other North Point church staffers)

Rebecca Ducksworth. Employed by North Point as the Director of Guest experiences.

Jared Roman Working for North Point in some capacity for nearly two decades, recently as a Production Director.

Ultimately, Andy Stanley owns all of this. He has cultivated a church where leaders don’t have to affirm a biblical view of marriage and, in fact, can openly oppose and fight against it. That his pastors and leaders feel like they can joyfully celebrate Pride without any interference or caution to the contrary should surprise no one.

yep. Wolf in sheep’s clothing.

I see it all the time from devout acquaintances and coworkers. They got no clue what they’re listening to on Sunday mornings.

To think I hear tell his dad was a good preacher too.

When the Luciferians stated they had taken over the leadership of all Christian denominations, they were truthful.

His dad was a great preacher.

I’m not a Baptist but I found Charles Stanley so easy to listen to, and so inspiring.

Did his son go off the rails while Charles was still alive? It probably killed him.

Yes, Charles Stanley was a great preacher. No hooting and hollering. No sales pitches. No "magic
prayer" cloths or magic "packets of holy water". He never asked for money or "call this toll free
number now!"

“Well done, good and faithful servant”

The Luciferians are the scary ones, not the Satanists.
