XRP could be on track for a major breakout if it clears a key technical resistance level that has capped gains for years.

According to cryptocurrency analyst Ali Martinez in an X post on September 5, XRP has been forming a massive ascending triangle pattern on the monthly chart for nearly a decade, with the critical breakout level sitting at $3.66.

The analyst argued that a monthly close above $3.66 would confirm the breakout and potentially activate a long-term price target of $60.

Such a move would rank among the largest rallies in XRP’s history and could significantly reshape the cryptocurrency’s market position.

The analysis shows XRP steadily forming higher lows since 2017 while repeatedly encountering resistance near the $3.66 level.

This has created a large ascending triangle, a pattern widely regarded as bullish once resistance is decisively broken.

XRP key price levels to watch

According to the projection, XRP could initially advance toward intermediate resistance levels around $9.49, $15.60, and $31.87 before eventually targeting $57.40 to $60 near the end of the decade.

At the time of the analysis, XRP was trading around $1.40, meaning the token would need to rally approximately 4,186% to reach the projected $60 target.

At XRP’s current market capitalization of $88.1 billion, a rise from $1.40 to $60 would value the cryptocurrency at roughly $3.78 trillion, assuming supply remains relatively unchanged. Such a valuation would make XRP one of the world’s largest financial assets and among the biggest cryptocurrencies ever.

The bullish XRP price prediction is also supported by strengthening network fundamentals. While active trading accounts on the XRP Ledger fell to about 1,100 per day in the second quarter from more than 1,860 a year earlier, daily order-book trading volume surged 79% to 3.57 million XRP. This pushed average trading volume per account to roughly 3,200 XRP, nearly triple last year’s level.

At the same time, tokenized assets and RLUSD balances on the network reached approximately $4.26 billion, up from just $99 million six quarters ago.

RLUSD supply alone jumped more than 600% year-over-year, while U.S. spot XRP ETFs attracted $273 million in net inflows during the quarter, highlighting growing institutional interest in the asset.

XRP price analysis

By press time, XRP was trading at $1.40, down about 3.4% over the past 24 hours. However, the cryptocurrency remained up roughly 1.5% on the weekly timeframe.

Despite the recent pullback, XRP remains technically bullish. The asset is trading above both its 50-day SMA of $1.17 and 200-day SMA of $1.27, with the shorter-term average also above the longer-term average, indicating the broader uptrend remains intact.

Meanwhile, XRP’s 14-day RSI stands at 60.37, signaling positive momentum without entering overbought territory. The indicator suggests buyers remain in control while leaving room for further upside before conditions become overheated.
