The Football Association has apologised after technical issues disrupted a live broadcast of the Women's FA Cup third-round draw.

It was being streamed on Instagram on Monday morning when it froze as the southern section draw was taking place.

Fans did not find out the outcome of the draw until it was published with an apology on the Women's FA Cup social media channels about 30 minutes later.

The FA said the internet connection had been repeatedly tested before the draw took place and that the full video would be posted on the competition's social media channels.

The third round sees the 11 teams from the Women's Championship enter the competition. Highlights of the draw, external include Championship leaders Birmingham hosting second-placed Durham.

The 12 Women's Super League clubs enter in the fourth round.
