Fashion fans have been left fiercely divided over a pair of $1,100 Valentino pumps after some claimed that the pricey shoes left their feet looking like pig's hooves.

Valentino's Open Toe Révélé Suede Pumps have risen in popularity amongst the rich and famous recently, with stars like Hailey Bieber and Tyla sporting the controversial footwear over the last few months.

The shoes – which come in black, a shade of orange called rust and a blueish–green called aquamarine – have a bizarre cut–out in the center that leaves the wearer's toes on full display.

And while they seem to be a hit in Hollywood, social media users weren't as enthralled with the peculiar design.

Last month, a woman on TikTok named Oly shared some clips of herself trying on the footwear, writing, 'I really thought these were going to be flattering. Very glad I tried these on and didn't blind buy them.'

'I swore I loved these in pics and then I tried them on and I hated them,' she added in the caption.

The video went viral, raking in a whopping 32.6 million views and many people rushed to the comment section to share their thoughts on the expensive heel.

Many poked fun at the unusual shape and claimed that it made Oly look like she had pig feet.

One person commented: 'It's giving,' alongside a photo of pig's hooves.

'Is the designer John Pork?' someone else joked.

'This is the literal worst shoe I have ever seen in my entire life,' chimed in another user.

'I cannot believe these actually survived production and are out in the wild for purchase,' read a fourth comment.

A fifth said: 'Walk a mile in these Loupigtons.'

'Not the Peppa steppas,' read another comical post, which referred to the famous children's character Peppa Pig.

'Is your house made of straw, sticks or bricks?' asked someone else, in reference to The Three Little Pigs tale.

'There couldn't possibly be an uglier shoe on the planet,' announced another user.

Bieber was spotted wearing the shoes to a press event back in February. She paired them with a mini green Valentino dress.

After her stylist shared a snap of the look, a slew of people praised the footwear.

Ariana Madix commented, 'I need these shoes like I need air.'

'The shoes?!?! I die,' wrote another fan.

'Holy moly the shoes,' said someone else alongside a fire emoji.

The shoes are made from suede and polymer material and include a 4.1 in heel and a VLogo Signature accessory with antique–effect brass finish.

Singer Tyla also wore a pair to the Met Gala in early May alongside her custom Valentino gown.

And earlier this month, influencer Elle Ferguson sparked immense backlash after she bragged about flying 30 hours just to buy a pair of the Valentino heels.

'Traveled 30 hours from Sydney to Paris to get THE heels of the season. Say hello to the Open Toe Révélé Suede Pumps,' Elle wrote in the caption

The Australian social media star, 41, shared video of herself posing in the mirror of a Valentino boutique in Paris as she tried on several pairs of pumps, including the Open Toe Révélé Suede Pumps.

'HIDEOUS. Girl you wasted money on shoes that are ugly, overpriced and will break easy,' one user wrote.

'It's not a flex you think it is,' another user wrote, as someone else agreed: 'That's the most hideous style of heels I have ever seen.'

Some users compared the shoes to camel toes, while others likened them to a pair of two front teeth.
