Female Christian preschool staffer at a South Carolina youth center that prides itself on a 'safe and loving environment' arrested after allegedly committing a terrible sin

A devout Christian preschool in South Carolina has been rocked after one of its female employees was arrested on charges related to child sex crimes.

Heather Nichole Hill, 36, was apprehended on Saturday by police in Easley, a small town near the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

She was charged with criminal solicitation of a minor and eight counts of disseminating obscene material to a person under 18.

No further details have been released about the circumstances that led to Hill's arrest - but a mugshot showing her blank stare was released following her detention. 

She was held at the Pickens County Detention Center on a $90,000 bond, $10,000 for each charge, which was posted on Sunday.

Hill was employed at Siloam Christian Preschool until her arrest, according to the school.

Siloam Christian Preschool describes itself as a learning center that 'provides a Christian-based education in a safe and loving environment.'

On Sunday, the school announced Hill had been fired, and it is cooperating with police.

'We are aware of a situation involving one of our employees at Siloam Christian Preschool. The safety and well-being of our students is of utmost importance to us,' the school wrote on Facebook.

'Members of the preschool leadership team, as well as church officials, met Sunday afternoon and took immediate action to terminate this person's employment. 

'The preschool and church have also contacted the Easley Police Department to investigate at their discretion and have pledged full cooperation throughout the process.'

Hill's next court date is scheduled for October 1.
