A well-known female TV anchor was caught hurling expletives at her supervisor in leaked video footage after she sued her bosses for alleged sexist discrimination.
Taryn Asher, who was fired from Fox 2 Detroit in November 2025, has accused the local station of gender discrimination after she was yanked from the air and subsequently dumped from her longtime evening anchor gig.
But sources close to the station and the legal case told Deadline Detroit that Asher's 2023 suspension took place partly because she was disrespectful to her female supervisor.
A clip displaying that alleged behavior has since been leaked by Deadline Detroit and captured the 51-year-old calling her superior a 'bitch' before spewing out the f-bomb.
Asher, dressed in a royal purple pantsuit, was filming a public service announcement when she suddenly stopped and said: 'I'm gonna have to do that again.'
The journalist fixed her hair and shifted her gaze to a female who was off-camera, who appeared to mention that Asher was reading a script.
'I am, I'm in Amy's script. The Amy's Angels one. The second thing didn't make sense, so I was just trying to fix that part,' Asher responded before the other woman spoke.
The two of them then went back and forth in what appeared to be a heated discussion before the other woman walked away while Asher called her a 'bitch.'

She recently filed a workplace discrimination lawsuit against the company, alleging she was fired due to sexist discrimination
'Geez-o-Petes,' Asher added as she twiddled her fingers and shook her head, seemingly disgusted by the interaction.
A man was then heard asking: 'What the hell is going on around here?' Asher then interrupted and said: 'Can I please finish what I was going to say? What the f***?!'
'Grow up,' she continued as an audio technician approached her, apparently to help her prepare for the show.
As he did so, Asher confided in him, stating: 'I am so done with her antics! Her telling on me every five seconds - I'm done!'
Fox 2 submitted a court filing on Friday in response to Asher's alleged discrimination suit.
The legal document reviewed by the Daily Mail said that Asher displayed 'unprofessional behavior directed toward multiple employees in the preceding week.'
Her colleagues also complained that she would 'shout at other employees in the newsroom about the order of guest interviews during one of the evening newscasts after Asher was the one who had misread the schedule,' the filing read.
Despite the outlet's pushback on Asher's claims and the release of the video, her attorney said the video 'does not tell the full story.'

'We strongly disagree with Fox’s characterization of Ms. Asher’s workplace behavior. Ms. Asher is an award-winning journalist who served Fox 2 Detroit since 2007. Fox’s own filing admits that shortly prior to her firing she repeatedly raised internal concerns that she believed Fox treated male employees, including her male co-anchor, more favorably, including with respect to schedule flexibility and guest-interview opportunities,' Tad Roumayah, Asher's lawyer, told the Daily Mail.
In regard to the clip, Roumayah added: 'It involved an isolated moment that occurred years ago, was resolved at the time, and did not result in Ms. Asher’s termination. It is only being raised now after Ms. Asher made complaints of gender discrimination and retaliation.
'Fox’s own filing admits that multiple male employees accused of serious misconduct both in and out of the workplace were not terminated and, in some instances, were later promoted. We believe Fox is now attempting to reframe Ms. Asher’s legally protected complaints of discrimination as “unprofessionalism".
'Ms. Asher denies engaging in any conduct that justified her termination, and we look forward to proving her gender discrimination and retaliation claims in federal court,' he concluded.
The reporter filed a lawsuit against her former employer in June, followed by an amended one in July.
According to the suit obtained by The Detroit Metro Times, the station is accused of suspending Asher in retaliation for a months-long back-and-forth after she claimed her bosses displayed favoritism toward her male co-anchor, Roop Raj.
Asher originally raised her concerns over potential gender discrimination after Paul McGonagle was appointed as the station's general manager in July 2025.
She claimed that, at that point, she had noticed an apparent pattern of men replacing women in leadership roles, the Metro Times reported.
Asher also claimed that her co-worker, Raj, and other members of the team had kept her excluded from conversations regarding guest interview assignments, and that Raj was being given more interview opportunities.

The new lawsuit filed by Fox 2 has also demanded that Asher return a company-issued laptop to them. The outlet is seeking monetary damages if she chooses not to return the computer
The concerns were brought to Assistant News Director Sean Lee in September 2025, and she later claimed she had been advocating for equal treatment between herself and Raj by denying her the same opportunities as he, the lawsuit claimed, according to the outlet.
The new lawsuit filed by Fox 2 has also demanded that Asher return a company-issued laptop to them. The outlet is seeking monetary damages if she chooses not to return the computer, the documents read.
According to the filing, Asher has refused to turn the electronic device over because she believes she has 'attorney-client privileged material' on it.
Fox 2 also noted that even though Asher was not allowed back on air after her termination last year, the company continued to pay her until her official fire date in June 2026.
The Daily Mail contacted Fox for comment.
