A brush fire reportedly ignited beneath the X2 roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain before it was brought under control Thursday afternoon.
The incident unfolded in the 26000 block of Magic Mountain Parkway after firefighters with the Los Angeles County Fire Department were dispatched at 12:30 p.m.
Crews reached the scene five minutes later and encountered flames burning below the popular coaster, according to initial reports.
The fire ultimately scorched roughly half an acre before firefighters halted its advance.
According to Fire Department spokesperson Kaitlyn Aldana, who spoke with The Signal, firefighters successfully halted the fire’s forward spread by 12:48 p.m.
Officials confirmed that guests, park employees and firefighters were unharmed, and no evacuations were required during the response.
Authorities have not released information on any damage that may have occurred beneath the X2 ride.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
