A huge fire broke out at a California airport Wednesday afternoon as firefighters scrambled to battle the flames.
The blaze erupted at Fullerton Municipal Airport in Orange County as thick smoke filled the air, grounding planes.
The fire was seen near the airport’s intersection of Magnolia and Commonwealth avenues.
Firefighters could be seen on the roof of a building spraying water on the flames. It’s not clear how the fire started or what the building contains.
A rep with the Fullerton Municipal Airport told The California Post that the fire was “just about out now.”
“Should be back to normal operations in 20 minutes,” the person added.
Fullerton Municipal Airport is a general aviation airport just a couple of miles away from Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm. It was founded in 1927 and has a capacity of 600 planes.
The California Post reached out to the Orange County Fire Authority for comment.
