A popular fitness influencer has died three months after he was shot in the head during an attempted robbery at his Los Angeles home.
Miguel Angel Aguilar, 43, who had nearly 50,000 followers across his social media pages that provide tips on fitness and entrepreneurship, was declared dead on Saturday.
'We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our founder and CEO, Miguel Angel Aguilar,' the Self Made Training Facility team posted on Instagram.
'After a courageous three-month battle following the tragic incident that took place on September 13th, 2024, Miguel peacefully passed away on December 21, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones.
'Miguel was more than just a leader, he was a visionary, an inspiration, a mentor, a father, a husband, family and a dear friend to many,' the statement continued.
'His unwavering dedication to Self Made Training Facility, his passion for the fitness industry and entrepreneurial spirit have left an enduring legacy.
'Miguel revolutionized personal training and inspired countless individuals to pursue their fitness and entrepreneurial goals. His strategic mind and innovative spirit were the driving force behind Self Made's rapid growth and success.
'As we mourn the loss of our dear friend and leader, we also celebrate his extraordinary life and the positive impact he had on so many,' the post said.

Aguilar had been hospitalized in critical condition since the September 13 attempted armed robbery, KTLA reports.
Police told NBC Los Angeles Aguilar and his wife, celebrity hair-extensionist Priscilla Valles, were confronted by four armed men in the driveway of their upscale Bel Air home.
The men then demanded property, before one of them fired at Aguilar, striking him multiple times - including once in the face - before they fled the scene, according to TMZ.
It is unclear exactly what the thieves were after, but sources told TMZ at the time that they tried to grab his Rolex.
One suspect was also fatally shot in the scuffle.

Los Angeles authorities did not name Aguilar as the victim at the time, but Self Made Inc. posted on its Instagram that he was 'involved in a serious incident' and was 'fighting bravely' in the intensive care unit.
'We know that he is surrounded by the love and support of his family, friends, all of you, and we are confident in his ability to overcome this,' the company wrote.
'During this difficult time, we ask for your prayers, positive thoughts and support for Miguel and his loved ones, and ask that you respect the privacy of his friends and family at this time.'

Three men have since been arrested in Northern California in connection to the attempted robbery and shooting.
They now face charges of murder, attempted robbery and assault with a firearm and could face life in prison if they are convicted, according to TMZ.
Meanwhile, Aguilar is survived by his wife, Valles, and his two daughters.
