Disturbing footage has resurfaced of New York City Mayor Eric Adams handing Sean Diddy Combs the key to the city as both men face lawsuits.

In a surfaced clip from last September when the Mayor gave Diddy the key at a Times Square ceremony, the Democrat leader of the Big Apple said: 'The bad boy of entertainment is getting the key to the city from the bad boy of politics.'

It comes as Diddy, 54, awaits trial at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center in New York City after being indicted on sex trafficking and racketeering charges.  Meanwhile, Adams, 64, became the city's first mayor to be charged criminally while still in office following a number of federal corruption probes into campaign finances and alleged kickback schemes among top brass.

Two months after Diddy was awarded the key, his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura filed a lawsuit against the rapper alleging he raped her and physically abused her over the course of 10 years.

Other serious allegations against the rapper mounted, but Diddy did not have to return his ceremonial Key to the City until June of this year, after the Mayor sent the embattled rapper a letter requesting the honour back, following backlash over surfaced footage of the disgraced rapper assaulting his then-partner.

This photo provided by the Office of the New York Mayor, shows Mayor Eric Adams, left, presenting the Key to the City to hip-hop artist Sean 'Diddy' Combs in New York's Times Square, Friday, Sept. 15, 2023

Diddy has returned his key to New York City after a request from Adams in response to the release of a video showing the music mogul attacking R&B singer Cassie Ventura

Mayor Eric Adams currently also faces legal woes after being indicted yesterday

Adams wrote in June that he stands with survivors of domestic abuse, while also noting that the key was awarded to model citizens that Diddy no longer met the criteria for.

The shocking footage of Diddy attacking Ventura, which was obtained by CNN, shows the rapper shirtless with a towel wrapped around his waist in 2016 chasing her down the hall at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City.

As Ventura tried to get in the elevator, he grabbed her by the back if the head and slammed her to the ground.

He then kicked her as she lay on the floor motionless. Diddy then stood over her, kicked her again, and the dragged her back to their room.

Last week, Homeland Security officers busted into Diddy's Manhattan hotel room and took him into custody amid mounting allegations of sexual and other abuse against the music mogul.

As for Adams, who was indicted yesterday, said Wednesday in a two-minute clip filmed from the Gracie Mansion that he 'always knew' he would become a target because of his views, and also refused to leave office.

He reminded onlookers that he has beseeched President Joe Biden for federal help, and claimed the 'investigation' surrounding him started as a result.

The indictment stayed sealed Wednesday night - and its contents remain unknown.
