Former Democrats recently spoke about their disdain for President Joe Biden during a Fox Business segment ahead of President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration. Former Democrat Lydia Dominguez referred to an incident after the disastrous 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal that contributed to her jumping across the aisle to the Republican Party.
The Afghanistan exit, which is considered one of the biggest foreign policy blunders of the Biden administration, led to 13 U.S. service members lost their lives in an ISIS suicide bomb near the Kabul airport. During a subsequent ceremony for the fallen soldiers, the president caught heat for checking his watch as the young men and women who lost their lives for the nation were being honored.
Recounting the incident, Dominguez stated, “So he was looking at his watch when my brothers and sisters in arms had passed away in Afghanistan during the absolute trash debacle they had. And I just I couldn’t stop imagining him doing that. So that’s where we are. It’s a disgrace what he’s done to this country. It’s a disgrace what he’s done to our service members, service members like myself who love this country, who came from another country.”
The former Democrat noted that she was ashamed of what the federal government has done, explaining that she came to the U.S. for a better life. “I was born in Mexico, came here and served my country and to to be had the heavy hand of the federal government come after us, to take the COVID 19 vaccine,” she said, referring to the liberal-driven COVID-19 policies.
Dominguez pointed out that service members were severely punished for refusing to go along with the agenda. “A lot of service members like myself were reprimanded and pushed out of the military, and so I have a very sour taste in my mouth with the Biden administration,” she said. However, she noted that she is quite excited for the next four years under Trump.
“I am excited about the Trump administration,” she explained. “I’m truly excited for everything he’s got going on in the future and but yeah, we have, I have a super sour taste in my mouth over the Biden administration.” The Fox Business host then said, “Well, there’s some good news here. Under a Pete Hank set theft, those veterans get to come back if they want to those people that were thrown out of the military and back pay.”
Team Trump recently shared footage of the president-elect and Vice President-elect JD Vance laying wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown soldier, demonstrating their affinity for the military. The incoming president’s team wrote, “President Trump and Vice President-elect Vance arrive at Arlington National Cemetery to lay wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Solider.”
Another post from Team Trump read, “The sacrifice of these American heroes must never be forgotten — and will never be forgotten.” Millions of Americans are anticipated President-elect Trump’s return to the Oval Office to revive the country and make American great again.
