Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 is set to be the next major update, and it’s reportedly going to be one huge Star Wars crossover.
Every Fortnite season comes with its own distinct theme that separates it from the others. Chapter 6 Season 1 was heavily inspired by Japanese culture, while the current map revolves around robbing banks and pulling off heists.
Occasionally, Epic like to pull out all the stops and drop a season that focuses on one major franchise, such as the two Marvel seasons we’ve seen previously. Chapter 6 Season 3 is said to be the biggest Star Wars collab yet, so here’s everything we know about it so far.
Chapter 6 Season 3 start date
The new Fortnite season will get underway on Friday, May 2, 2025, according to the timer displayed on the current Battle Pass. Based on previous updates, we expect there to be a few hours of downtime where the servers will be offline while the update rolls out.
Theme

As mentioned, Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 will be Star Wars-themed, as revealed by dataminer ‘Loolo_WRLD.’ Just like the Marvel seasons in the past, the iconic sci-fi franchise will take over every aspect of the game, including the maps, weapons, and Battle Pass.
This hasn’t been officially confirmed by Epic themselves, but it was long-rumored before this report on March 26. Plus, Fortnite has a long history of crossing over with the series, as a trailer for Episode IX: Rise of Skywalker was shown in-game at Risky Reels all the way back in 2019.
The timing also makes sense, as Andor Season 2 is due to arrive on Disney+ on April 22 and Star Wars Day takes place on May 4, just two days after it begins.
How long is Star Wars season in Fortnite?
Fortnite’s Star Wars season will reportedly only last around 30 days, according to leaks. This is much shorter than the roughly 90 days (10 weeks) that seasons normally last, making it the shortest-lived to date.
That being said, Epic have been leaning more towards shorter seasons in recent months, with Chapter 6 Season 2 lasting around 72 days when all is said and done.

Possible map changes
You can expect there to be a number of POIs on the map inspired by iconic Star Wars locations. The same was true in the most recent Marvel season, where the likes of The Raft, Doom’s Castle, and more could all be found on the island.
The Mos Eisley Cantina was added to the map during Chapter 2, so while there’s no confirmation just yet on which locations will arrive, there are plenty of options from the movies and series. For example, we could see an explorable Jabba’s Palace, or POIs inspired by Coruscant or Tatooine.
Potential skins
Leakers have also claimed that there will be a Battle Pass with around five Star Wars skins. Over the years, there have already been plenty of fan-favorite characters who have been released during events or as store skins, but there are still some big names who are yet to appear.
Here are some of the biggest:
- General Grievous
- Count Dooku
- Bo Katan
- Jango Fett
- Mace Windu
Of course, most of this information is speculation based on leaks, so take it with a pinch of salt until Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 is officially revealed.
