Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 is almost over, and if you’ve been paying any attention at all to the Ice King versus The Foundation situation, you know it can’t end well for at least one of them. What comes next is Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3, called Runners. Here’s everything we know.
Release date
Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 launches on Saturday, June 6, 2026. Downtime begins at 4 AM ET. Epic won’t tell you exactly when the servers come back, because Epic never tells you exactly when the servers come back, but three to four hours is the historical norm.
Theme
The season is officially called Runners, and the island is going tropical. Epic posted its first teaser on May 31, a warm piece of artwork that looks like a Hawaiian postcard, and the community immediately got to work finding what was buried in it. What they found was a Dark Voyager Sprite hidden inside the season logo, which confirmed that Sprites are returning.
If you weren’t playing during Sprites’ heyday, here’s what you missed: small creatures that attached to your back and buffed your weapons and movement. They were genuinely good fun and got quietly removed at the start of Chapter 7.
The June 1 gameplay trailer showed exactly what they’re capable of, with a single shotgun blast destroying a car and an assault rifle cutting through metal buildings like they weren’t there. Traversal buffs were also on display, including higher jumps and faster running and sliding.
Battle Pass
The Runners Battle Pass costs 800 V-Bucks, which is roughly $8.99. It’s also included with Fortnite Crew at $11.99 a month. Epic revealed the full lineup ahead of launch this time, which is a nice change, and there are eight new skins.

- Armored Cerberus is a tactical remix of the Chapter 5 Season 2 character, complete with a metal arm and what looks like a Dark Voyager Assault Rifle that may land in the loot pool.
- Ninja Hope is all orange, carrying a new katana, previously spotted in a survey in a different color scheme.
- John Wick (Pen & Ink) is a comic book-style redesign of Baba Yaga, and he comes with his dog as a Sidekick in the same illustrated style, which is frankly the correct way to handle a John Wick collab.
- Doctor Slone returns in high-tech armor that looks borrowed from The Last Reality, and her reappearance will almost certainly mean something for the storyline.
- PJ gets a remixed look.
- Twitch streamer TheBurntPeanut rounds out the confirmed collabs, with his cosmetic possibly tied to the Sprite system rather than being a standard skin.
Collabs
Beyond the Battle Pass, the rumor mill has been running hot. Masters of the Universe is the most credible shop collab based on leaks, timed to the film’s release. Lilo & Stitch fits the theme almost too neatly to be a coincidence. Kingdom Hearts has been teased as part of Epic’s broader Disney push, with Sora as the likely candidate.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is plausible given its July 11 release date falling inside the Season 3 window. And given the season is literally called Runners, the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners theories aren’t going away, especially with a second season of the anime reportedly in production.
Some of these will happen and some won’t. We’ll update this page when Epic makes things official.
Weapons & map
Nothing confirmed yet, but the gameplay trailer showed new weapons including the Chaos Reloader Assault Rifle, the Triple Barrel Shotgun, and mobility items called The Seven Power Boots.
The tropical visual direction and the scope of the season-ending event both suggest the map is in for a significant reshape. Leakers have been pointing to a volcano on the updated island for weeks. We’ll update this section the moment the map is live on June 6.
