Forza Horizon 6 players are reporting a serious bug that can completely wipe save data, with some users losing hundreds of hours of progress and entire car collections.

Since launching, Playground Games’ latest open-world racer has given players plenty to do across its Japan setting, with more than 600 cars to collect and weekly live-service updates adding new content. However, some players have recently found themselves starting from scratch after a save data issue reset their progress.

Reports have been spreading across Reddit and other community forums, with affected players claiming their saves were deleted without warning.

The exact cause of the issue has not been confirmed, but players have identified several potential triggers across both Xbox and PC.

According to PC Gamer and community reports, some Xbox players experienced the bug after using the console’s Quick Resume feature. On PC, others have linked the problem to cloud save synchronization issues through the Xbox App or game crashes.

Players have also raised concerns that modifying certain vehicles could be connected to the bug, though this has not been officially confirmed. Cars frequently mentioned in reports include:

  • 2003 Ford F-150 SVT Lightning
  • 1993 Schuppan 962CR
  • 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air
  • 1994 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta
  • 1988 Lamborghini Countach LP5000QV
  • 2019 Porsche #70 Motorsport 945
  • 2017 Ford M-Sport Fiesta RS
  • 2020 Wuling Sunshine S Forza Edition

While not every player using these vehicles has encountered the issue, some community members have advised avoiding them until more information becomes available.

Players on PC have also been encouraged to create manual backups of their save files as a precaution.

Those who have already lost progress can contact Forza Support for assistance. While support staff may be able to restore inventory items such as cars, credits, and Wheelspins, players may still need to replay campaign progress and recollect discoverables across the map.
