Four dead after bodies ejected from overpacked car in horrific Wrightwood crash

Four people are dead after an overpacked compact car veered off the road, struck a pole and sent passengers hurling through the air.

Six people were crammed into a Hyundai Veloster, a hatchback with seating for five, when it crashed on Highway 2’s scenic mountain section at around 1:30 am Friday, according to authorities.

Four people died in the crash near Flume Canyon Drive in Wrightwood, several of the bodies were thrown from the compact Hyundai vehicle. Two more people were hospitalized in critical condition — one of them was allegedly wearing a seatbelt, according to NBC LA.

The vehicle was left a mangled mess after it slammed into a utility pole.

The cause of the crash and victim identities are currently unknown.
