A cordon and steady police presence remains on the scene.

Staffordshire Police are now appealing for witnesses, and are keen to speak to anyone who may have relevant information, CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage of the area.

Detectives are specifically urging for anyone who saw anything or has footage of the area between 9pm Friday and midnight Saturday to get in touch.

Detective Chief Inspector Pete Cooke, of our major and organised crime unit, said: "We understand that this is a worrying time for our communities as we come to terms with the tragic events of last night, where sadly, one young person lost their life and another was seriously injured.

"That is why we are asking the public to give us any information or footage they may have, so we can continue to build a picture of the circumstances surrounding what happened.

"Our thoughts continue to be with the families of the young men affected, who are being supported by specialist officers at this immensely difficult time."

Earlier, Detective Inspector Katie Gregory, senior investigating officer in the case, said: "This is a devastating time for all those affected by what has happened overnight.

"I'd like to reassure the community that there is no wider risk to them and we are doing all we can to understand the circumstances that led to this tragic incident."

Anyone with information about the incident has been asked to contact police on 101 or report online quoting this incident number 1062 of 9 October.
