The Health Ministry confirmed that Kalloub succumbed to the severe winter cold in Gaza, which has been struggling under harsh weather conditions.
The Palestinian population in Gaza continues to endure the devastating effects of Israel’s ongoing military campaign, which began on October 7, 2023.
The toll of this genocidal war has surpassed 45,800 deaths, predominantly affecting women and children, with over 109,000 people injured.
In addition to the bombings, the Israeli blockade has left Gaza’s residents facing extreme shortages, with many on the brink of famine.
The severe cold, coupled with torrential rains, has made life even more unbearable for displaced civilians, many of whom are living in tents in overcrowded camps.
International efforts to address the crisis include the International Criminal Court's (ICC) arrest warrants against Israeli officials, including prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former defense minister Yoav Gallant, on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its criminal actions in Gaza.
