In today's GB News Daily Reflection, we consider how Matthew 9 focuses on Jesus calling Matthew, a despised tax collector, to “follow me” without demanding he change first or prove himself worthy.
Jesus shows that God’s grace is for those who recognise their need, not just those who think their lives are in order.
“Many people assume that they have to become a better person before they can come to God. But Matthew's story tells us the opposite.
“Jesus meets people where they are and invites them into a new life with him. Whatever your past, whatever your labels, whatever the burdens you have carried, or the mistakes you have made.
“Jesus's invitation is still the same: ‘Follow me.’”
