"Only later, when the cat is brought ashore, does the sorting take place. This teaches us that in the present age, the visible community of faith contains a mixture of people. Some are growing faithfully in God's grace. Others may simply be near the things of God without truly belonging to him.
"We are often unable to distinguish the difference, but God clearly sees. The parable reminds us that a day of separation will come. God's judgment is not arbitrary, nor is it forgotten.
"The Lord, who knows every heart, will ultimately distinguish between what is genuine and what is not. This is not a message intended to create fear, but rather to encourage faithfulness.
"The kingdom calls us not merely to appear committed, but to belong wholly to Christ. Today we are invited to examine our hearts. The question is not whether we have been near the net, but whether we have responded to the king's court."
