Geri Halliwell-Horner has predicted that all five Spice Girls will perform together again in the future, amid a row over censorship of one of the band's classic hits.

The 52-year-old pop icon, nicknamed Ginger Spice, sensationally left the group in 1998 but has returned for brief reunions.

The legendary girl group, which dominated the 1990’s as pop culture icons, was made up of Melanie ‘Mel B’ Brown (Scary Spice); Melanie ‘C’ Chisholm (Sporty Spice); Emma Bunton (Baby Spice); Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) and Halliwell.

All five have not performed together since the 2012 London Olympics opening ceremony.

In 2019, the group's reunion tour went ahead without Victoria Beckham, featuring only Halliwell, Brown, Chisholm and Bunton.

"There will be something!" Halliwell promised while speaking with The Sunday Times.

She explained: "My hope is we come back together as a collective," she said. "It's more respectful to come as one. We'll come as one."

Despite rumours of a falling out with Brown, the 52-year-old revealed all five Spice Girls are in a group chat.

"I'm smiling because I got a text from Mel C just this morning. She's doing her thing out in Australia," Halliwell teased.

"We love each other. I care about them, and we want the best for each other.

"We shared something so monumental. We've always believed in each other, had trust in each other, which is beautiful," Halliwell continued.

The Spice Girls became one of the biggest selling pop acts of all time, scoring nine number ones between 1996 and 2000.

They have sold over 100 million records globally, making them the best-selling girl groups of all time, helping define the "Cool Britannia" era.

The news comes as The Spice Girls 1997 hit Spice Up Your Life had been censored on BBC Radio 2 and other UK stations.

In the trimmed version now being played, the word "yellow" has been removed from the song.

Originally, the Spice Girls sing: "Yellow man in Timbuktu. Colour for both me and you."

The change appears to have been made due to concerns that the term could be considered offensive.

The song originally charted in the UK top 20 for six weeks and remained in the top 40 for 12 weeks after its release.

Halliwell married Formula One Red Bull Racing boss Christian Horner in 2015, changing her name to Geri Horner.

The 52-year-old uses Halliwell-Horner as a pen name for her Rosie Frost book series.
