GB News host Andrew Pierce launched a scathing attack on the Labour Government's approach to illegal immigration, dismissing their latest initiatives as "a gimmick and a stunt".
His comments came during a heated debate about the effectiveness of the Government's border security measures.
The row erupted as Keir Starmer claimed at the Border Security Summit in London that his Government has deported more than 24,000 people "that have no right to be here" since taking office.
Andrew was unimpressed by the £33million allocated to tackle the issue across 40 countries, declaring it "peanuts".
Tapp replied: "Well, firstly, we've had 42 viable crossing days this year compared to just 17 at the same point last year.
"This is why we mustn't be relying on the weather. Let me just explain what we've inherited. We have inherited open borders.
"Since we've inherited a Home Office that wasn't functioning or processing, leading to record taxpayers money being spent on hotels.
"We've also inherited broken relationships internationally. So we're working hard to get on top of this. There is no magic wand, but we've set up the border security command.
Labour MP Mike Tapp claimed that there have been "record deportations"

"That's vital because that brings in counter-terror powers that we're currently legislating. I've been sitting on the committee for that bill, and that is going through soon that will help the fight against smuggling gangs.
"We've also sped up the processing in the Home Office. That's led to 24,000 thousand deportations. That's record deportations."
He added: "The smuggling gangs had eight years to take hold. You're seeing massive progress being made and today's summit is vital because that money going upstream to the CPS to work with liaison officers with other nations is really important, because that means that we're more likely to prosecute upstream.
Andrew Pierce fumed: "£33million has been allocated. There are 40 countries there at that summit that works out at less than £1million per country.
"It is peanuts. This is a gimmick and a stunt. Deal with that, okay?"
