God of War: Laufey devs have responded after Domino’s Pizza ‘cooked’ them with a viral Tweet that claims the new game isn’t the same without Kratos.

Since its big reveal during PlayStation’s State of Play on June 2, God of War: Laufey has been the subject of much debate. Without getting into the weeds of it, the main issue revolves around the series’ signature badass Kratos taking a back seat.

Instead, God of War: Laufey will focus on Kratos’ wife Faye, as she journeys through the afterlife where gods from multiple mythologies compete for power.

It’s a big change, and as you can imagine, fan reactions have been mixed, but no one expected Domino’s Pizza and Santa Monica Studio to throw hands.

Santa Monica Studio responds to viral Domino’s Pizza Tweet

On June 3, Domino’s Pizza UK’s official X account wrote: “God of War game with no Kratos = Pepperoni Passion with no pepperoni.”

The Tweet quickly went viral following the PlayStation State of Play reveal, and racked up more than 61,000 likes and 3.9 million views as fans from both sides praised and blasted the tongue-in-cheek response.

Santa Monica Studio didn’t take long to respond to Domino’s post, replying with: “Ok, thanks for the feedback, Domino’s Pizza corporate account.”

The comeback quickly attracted attention of its own, and sparked further comments from the GoW community.

“Cooked by a pizza company is a hell of a way to go,” wrote one user.

Meanwhile, others called out Domino’s for adding further fuel to the pizza oven-sized fire. “A bunch of men mad a video game has a female lead for once. Very weird behavior in my opinion,” added one reply.

The exchange comes hot off the back of God of War’s original creator, David Jaffe, who slammed Laufey as “dull” and went viral for saying it’s “not God of War.”
