U.S. — Comedian and political commentator Greg Gutfeld had officially changed his name to GUTFELD! to match the title of his late night show GUTFELD!
GUTFELD! said, "I've always felt like Greg was never a good fit for me. I mean, Gregs just don't get people that excited. I'm GUTFELD!"
According to sources, GUTFELD! has had difficulty following the name change because his colleagues keep deadnaming him and, even when they get the name right, they aren't screaming it at the top of their lungs as the all caps spelling and exclamation point demand.
"My name is GUTFELD! not Greg," said an emotional GUTFELD! while preparing for a taping of GUTFELD!
"GUTFELD! has worked to build a reputation in late night comedy and simply asks that people respect him by calling him GUTFELD! and not Greg," screamed GUTFELD!'s assistant Jeanne Tripstyle.
According to GUTFELD!, his new name has made it easier to communicate with people who recognize him on the street because they were already shouting "GUTFELD!" anyway because they were so excited to see GUTFELD!. "Now my reputation matches my name," said GUTFELD!
At publishing time, GUTFELD! filed a complaint with the DMV after they refused to print out "GUTFELD!" on his driver's license, citing outdated computer systems that required at least a first and last name.
