Actor Robert Bogue, who appeared in Grand Theft Auto 5 as Agent Steve Haines, is disappointed that Rockstar didn’t consider him for a role in GTA 6.
As the calendar gets ever closer to November, Grand Theft Auto fans are getting more and more excited for GTA 6 – if that is even possible, anyway. They’re looking forward to going back to Vice City and seeing what an updated version offers.
Seeing as Rockstar does like to bring characters over from previous games, there has been plenty of speculation about who might pop up in GTA 6. Some believe that Jerry Kapowitz from GTA 4 will return, while others want to see a tonne of Tommy Vercetti Easter Eggs.
Well, one person who won’t be returning is Agent Steve Haines. Haines dies in GTA 5, provided you choose The Third Way/Deathwish option, but Robert Bogue, who portrayed the character, hasn’t heard back when auditioning for other roles in GTA 6.
GTA 5’s Steve Haines actor tried to get GTA 6 role
Speaking to Anderson Burak, the actor said he has auditioned for 60 roles, covering minor and major characters, but has not heard back from Rockstar.
“I must have auditioned for over 60 roles—some big, some small. The size of the role didn’t matter to me; I just wanted to be part of the game. I didn’t land any of them, and I didn’t even get a response for any of them. Frankly, it was quite disheartening,” he said, according to machine translation.
“At one point, I even wondered if they had an unofficial policy against reusing the same actors, because being rejected so many times—without being cast even for a small role—didn’t make sense to me.”

Bogue noted that he knows some “small details” about GTA 6 because of the roles he read for; however, he did not reveal what they were.
As noted, Rockstar has brought characters back from older games before; actors typically aren’t reused for new characters. You’re usually locked in to one person, and that’s your lot.
Some actors that are set to appear in GTA 6 have already been uncovered, with some leaking their appearance via online resumes.
GTA 6 will have a base price of $79.99, and the Ultimate Edition will cost $99.99. That more expensive version does come with a bundle of extras and the ability to access certain stores.
