Grand Theft Auto fans are convinced that Rockstar Games has dropped a hint about GTA 6’s story now that they’ve revealed the cover art.
After months of silence, claims that trailer three is around the corner, and hopes being built up over Best Buy leaks, Rockstar Games finally gave Grand Theft Auto fans a bit more of an inkling about GTA 6 on June 18.
The iconic game developers confirmed that pre-orders for the highly anticipated title will start on June 25, and also revealed the game’s official cover, as well as a new look at Vice City.
GTA 6’s cover sticks to the classic formula for Grand Theft Autos, with little screenshots in different quadrants, as well as a helicopter and motorbike too. However, fans believe this one also has a big hint about the game’s story.
Raul Bautista dresses like Lance Vance on GTA 6 cover
Towards the bottom of the cover art, Raul Bautista stands holding an assault rifle. Bautista, who has been a key part of the game’s trailer and screenshots already, is wearing a white suit and purple shirt this time around.
That has led to many fans to make the connection between him and Lance Vance, who betrayed Tommy Vercetti in Vice City.
“Please don’t let my boy Raul be a traitor,” one said. “Don’t Say He Is Going To Betray Us Too,” another chimed in. “Oh, that’s an omen if I ever seen one…,” another said. “I think I say this for everyone that it would be very boring and stupid if Raul B. is also a snitch,” another commented.
Rockstar also added a new description for GTA 6 to their website, too, hinting at things going wrong for Jason and Lucia.
“Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive,” it reads.
Raul is described as a seasoned bank robber who is “always on the hunt for talent ready to take the risks that bring the biggest rewards,” so we should see him interact with the characters early on.
Whatever he has up his arm beyond that, remains to be seen.
