Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently the only major video game releasing in November 2026 as developers and publishers look to avoid Rockstar’s behemoth.

When it finally arrives on November 19, GTA 6 is almost certain to be the biggest game of the year and one of the biggest launches ever. Its predecessor, GTA 5, infamously earned $815 million in the first 24 hours, making it the most profitable entertainment product ever in that time.

Analysts are already predicting that the sequel could double the numbers we saw back in 2013, and given that the trailers have already broken plenty of records, it’s hard to argue.

But with GTA 6 set to dominate the end of 2026, what does this mean for the other games coming this year? Well, they’re all staying as far away as possible.

Publishers avoid November with GTA 6 set to dominate

At the time of writing, there are currently no major games releasing in the entire month of November 2026, aside from GTA 6. There are some smaller titles like Crymelight and Gothic 3 Classic coming at the start and end of the month, but there are no AAA titles going head to head with Rockstar.

November is usually pretty stacked, as it’s part of the busy Fall period where publishers try to get their games out ready for the holidays. For example, in 2025, the likes of Black Ops 7, Football Manager 26, and Kirby Air Riders all dropped in the same month.

However, this year, every major release is scheduled before GTA. September looks particularly crowded, with The Blood of Dawnwalker, Marvel’s Wolverine, Control Resonant, and Silent Hill: Townfall arriving in quick succession.

There are still some major titles that don’t have a release date, such as Gears of War: E-Day and Halo: Campaign Evolved, so it’s possible one of these could be up to the challenge. There’s also the Xbox Showcase on June 7, so the calendar could fill up further.

Cult of the Lamb and Enter the Gungeon publisher Devolver Digital has been vocal on social media, saying that “not every publisher” is scared of GTA 6. They don’t currently have a game planned in November either, but perhaps one will be announced during Summer Games Fest.

But for now at least, it looks like everyone is giving GTA 6 a wide berth in the hopes that it doesn’t steal attention and sales away from their own games. Meanwhile, fans are still waiting for a third trailer, with marketing expected to ramp up this summer.
