Grand Theft Auto 6 pre-orders officially open on June 25, and for the first time since November, Rockstar actually has something new to say.

The studio spent seven months watching the internet tear itself apart over Best Buy affiliate leaks, placeholder listings on the Xbox Store, and a Take-Two earnings call where CEO Strauss Zelnick told analysts he had “absolutely no idea” when pre-orders would go live.

Through all of it, Rockstar posted GTA Online updates and said nothing about GTA 6, until now.

GTA 6 pre-orders go live June 25 with official cover art

Rockstar confirmed on June 18 that pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto 6 will open on June 25 through digital storefronts and select retailers.

The announcement arrived with a 33-second video unveiling the game’s official cover art, which leans hard into that classic GTA collage style.

Jason and Lucia command the center, flanked by a helicopter banking over a pastel skyline, a motorcycle mid-wheelie, a gold-dripping NPC who radiates future betrayal, and a yellow supercar that exists purely to be stolen and totaled.

An alligator sits in the middle of all of it, unbothered, because this is Leonida.

Beyond the cover art, Rockstar also refreshed the official GTA 6 website with a sprawling Vice City skyline at golden hour, all container ships and lit-up skyscrapers and a Ferris wheel glowing on the waterfront like the city dressed up for a date it fully intends to ruin.

The port below hums with boats that already feel stolen.

The timing lines up with what Zelnick teased after the May 21 earnings call, which is that Rockstar planned to start marketing GTA 6 “when it’s summertime.”

Pre-orders will also, crucially, put a number on what GTA 6 actually costs, a detail Rockstar has guarded so tightly that the closest anyone got was the Take-Two boss offhandedly referencing “70 or 80 bucks” during a conversation about in-game advertising.

GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S after two delays pushed it from its original Fall 2025 window. For everything else we know so far, check out our full GTA 6 breakdown, and if you’re curious about editions and pricing, here’s what to expect from GTA 6 pre-orders.
