Rockstar Games is giving GTA Online players a chance to earn up to GTA$3,000,000, but it comes with a cost if you want to get all the in-game money on offer.
While fans eagerly await GTA 6, the developers have surprised them with a gift announced via an official blog post, offering something special for players who haven’t played in a while to bring them back to GTA Online.
Here’s everything you need to know and all the steps you need to follow to get free cash and obtain the full amount.
How to get free money in GTA Online (March 2025)
Players who haven’t logged into Grand Theft Auto Online in the past 60 days can claim exclusive rewards of upto $3,000,000.
To receive the full amount, eligible players must complete the following three steps, with different amounts awarded at each stage:
- Select ‘Claim Now’ to claim the offer on Rockstar’s website and log in to GTA Online (GTA$1,000,000).
- Purchase a Great White, Whale, or Megalodon Shark Card (GTA$1,500,000).
- Subscribe to GTA+ membership (GTA$500,000).
However, rewards may take up to 72 hours to appear in a player’s Maze Bank account after completing the steps.
While Rockstar’s offer does hand out GTA$1,000,000 for free, getting the full GTA$3,000,000 requires spending real money on a Shark Card and a GTA+ subscription. The cheapest of these is $4.99/£3.99 – which is $250,000 of in-game cash.
Though, if you were already planning to buy in-game currency or membership, then enjoy the bonus freebies.
Eligibility requirements
To qualify for this offer, players must:
- Have a Rockstar Games account.
- Not have signed into GTA Online in the last 60 days.
- Link their platform account to their Rockstar Games account.
- Claim the offer on Rockstar’s website.
- Not be suspended or banned by Rockstar at any time.
- Not have already redeemed the offer on the same account.
Rockstar Games also released a “free” car in GTA Online thanks to the March 4 update, but some players have found themselves being unexpectedly charged GTA$2 million for redeeming the Karin S95.
Meanwhile, in the March 12 patch that celebrates St Patrick’s Day, there is various free rewards on offer such as money, clothes, and even a gun.
