An elderly waitress who can barely walk told how she is too poor to retire despite working her whole life.
The 81-year-old named Betty, works as a server at an Eat'N Park diner in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The grandmother-of-three's heartbreaking tale emerged after mom Tamie Konzier and her young son overheard her talking to another table about her situation.
'The table next to us asked why she was still working and she told them she only makes $910 a month on social security and she has to still work because her bills exceed $910,' Konzier explained in a TikTok video which she was hoping to use raise cash for the hardworking waitress.
The generous mom then tipped Betty $40 and explained she was aware of her precarious position, which prompted her to open up more.
'I mean I've worked all my life as a waitress and I still can't retire,' Betty said.
Konzier was then stunned to learn her age, telling her she 'looks great'.
'Thank you, I'm 81 and I can still out do these whippersnappers,' Betty joked. 'Take care and enjoy your day, enjoy it because it will go by you fast.'

Since sharing the video, Konzier has also set up a GoFundMe and pledged to donate any funds she makes through the TikTok creator program directly to Betty.
The mom was inundated with offers to help after her original video was viewed 4.4 million times.
'I was really hoping it would go viral,' Konzier explained, before adding that her young son was even more hopeful.
The adorable youngster then confirmed that he was 'praying in the car' that the video would blow up so they could pass on a decent sum to Betty.
Konzier shared a third update on Thursday where she tearfully confirmed that she has been overwhelmed by the response.
'I cannot believe this happened,' she said. 'Thank you everyone for your generosity. I don't even know her and I'm crying.'
So far, the GoFundMe page has raised an astonishing $143,000 - with yet more funds coming to Konzier through her Venmo and TikTok views.

Konzier mom explained that she has since reached out to Betty's manager and they are planning a surprise to present her with the cash.
'I've had some people that worked with her reach out and they've said such nice things about her, like she's worked so hard and never complains and she takes care of so many people.'
