Flight disruptions at London’s Heathrow Airport are expected to drag on for days following a massive fire that caused more than 1,300 flights to be canceled and diverted from the bustling travel hub Friday.

Heathrow Airport said it expected “significant disruption” over the weekend after the blaze knocked out power at a major substation.

The chaos will persist through at least the end of the week as airlines scramble to move stranded planes and flight crews back into correct positions and work to help travelers whose flights were canceled, sources said.

More than 200,000 travelers were previously advised to completely avoid the airport — which 83.9 million passengers used last year — through at least midnight Friday. An average of 1,300 flights pass through the airport each day.
