Heavy autumn snowfall has paralysed roads in Russia’s Magadan region, leaving trucks struggling through snow and disrupting intercity bus services.

Heavy snowfall blanketed Russia’s Far Eastern Magadan region, making roads treacherous and bringing traffic to a near standstill. Trucks struggled to climb snow-covered roads, while intercity buses were delayed or suspended.

Snowploughs were deployed to clear the roads as authorities urged drivers to avoid long-distance travel.

Residents reported waiting at bus stations for services that could not operate because of the conditions. More heavy, wet snow and strong winds were forecast.
