Carrie Underwood had a quick response to the technical difficulties that preceded her performance at Donald Trump’s inauguration on Monday.

The “American Idol” winner, 41, was slated to sing “America the Beautiful” at the ceremony inside the US Capitol with the accompaniment of the Armed Forces Chorus and the United States Naval Academy Glee Club. However, she was ultimately left without a band or an instrumental track.

The moment Underwood learned the bad news was caught on camera. In a clip from the ceremony shared on social media, someone with a headset approaches the “Before He Cheats” singer as she waits for music to begin playing.

As she’s seemingly told of the major hiccup, Underwood appears to ask, “just sing?”

She then adds, “I can just sing it.”

The “Jesus, Take the Wheel” chanteuse then addressed the assembled guests, saying, “You know the words — help me out here.” She went on to sing few verses of the patriotic song with the help from the crowd.

Underwood received reassurance after the song ended from former President Joe Biden, who mouthed “great job” as Underwood shook his hand. She then greeted President Trump and Vice President JD Vance.

I watched the video of Underwood saying “I can just sing it” is at https://x.com/KitMaherCNN/status/1881398807172395501, and embedded in the NY Post article.

To me, it looks like she says “I’ll just sing.”

Some Little People online took a screenshot of her saying “Sing” and she looks peeved.

maybe…more on that in a second. But the screenshot is clearly intended to malign Underwood. Without the video, the observer could get the wrong impression.

It’s important to see the video of her saying ALL those words.

The look on Underwood’s face as she says that sentence isn’t that of a diva - it’s one of American grit, determination, pride, and probably a little bit of anger/“I’ll show that sombich who sabotaged this thing”.

In that short clip of “I’ll just sing”, Underwood demonstrated what it means to be a true American. She also showed more guts than the entire Democrat and RINO establishment.

Honestly, I think it turned out better without the music. Carrie has a beautiful voice, and the acoustics sounded great! The show must go on (and it did)!

I was wondering why the orchestra wasn’t playing for her performance. Seems like since they had the full band there anyway, they could have scheduled them to back her up instead of a pre-recorded tape.
