High on Life is officially coming to VR, allowing you to battle aliens, explore the world, and… stroke your guns?
While it may have released back in 2022, the original High on Life was met with plenty of love. Fans and critics alike loved the witty humor from the Rick and Morty creators, while plenty praised the rather unique take on the game’s weapons. Naturally, these weapons can talk to you, and they can be pretty disturbing (whether that’s begging for death, begging to be shot… or other things).
Well, that’s about to be taken to an entirely new level (if that was even possible) as, thanks to the upcoming VR mode, you can both stroke and feed your weapons – and yes, it looks just as upsetting as it sounds.
New VR High on Life lets you pet your weapons
Announced during the VR Games Showcase, a brand new VR port of High on Life was revealed for Meta Quest, SteamVR, and the PlayStation VR2, with a release window of 2027.
However, while the trailer went through all the changes they’re making to make the game compatible with VR, one mechanic stood out – the ability to stroke your gun. During the trailer, we get glimpses of the VR team working on allowing the player to manipulate the gun’s face and body by stroking, poking, and prodding at it.
Now it wasn’t confirmed as to whether the weapons will comment on this violation players can take part in, but given the style of game, it’s incredibly likely that they’ll either complain or the opposite.
Don’t worry, though, it’s not just the guns, as they also said they’re currently working on Knifey (the Australian knife desperate to stab literally anything), so you might be able to do the same with him. Just don’t get too close to the blade.
