Hillary Clinton and Jill Biden looked ready to make a swift exit during Donald Trump's inauguration ceremony - as frenzied social media users were left in stitches after noticing they both kept their purses on.

On Monday, President Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of The United States inside the Capitol Rotunda, which held up to 600 of his family, friends, administration members and supporters.

Of course, the ceremony was also attended by previous presidents and their wives, including Bill and Hillary Clinton, George W. and Laura Bush, and Joe and Jill Biden.

But while the Presidential couples entered the Capitol, many social users noticed that both Hillary Clinton and Jill Biden were carrying purses, and didn't seem to want to let go of them.

Biden, who was decked out in a custom purple Ralph Lauren look, carried hers on her shoulder, while Clinton carried hers in her hands.

Their entrances wearing the purses was captured on both TV and on TikTok.

Following the ceremony, many users joked that they were both ready to make a swift escape after their official duties were done.

'She's on her way out. There was no going back in!' one commenter wrote.

Another agreed, 'So when it's over - they're outta there!'

'I think she was packed and ready to get outta there,' someone else typed.

In another TikTok video capturing the moment, someone else wrote: 'Was waiting for her to take her keys out and hold them in her hand.'

'Jill's ready. She'll meet you at the car,' one person joked.

Someone else remarked, 'She wasn't waiting on NO one.'

Other commenters called out the fact that there seemed to be nowhere for the ladies to put their bags during the ceremony.

Notably, neither the Clintons, Bushes nor Barack Obama did not attend Trump's inaugural luncheon following the ceremony, per NBC.

They were also not present at last night's inaugural balls.

On TikTok, many commenters noticed the two carrying their purses and joked that they were ready to leave

Meanwhile, Donald and Melania Trump hit three inaugural balls in one night as they lit up Washington, D.C., to mark the beginning of his presidency.

The newly sworn-in president and his glamorous first lady started at the military-themed Commander in Chief Ball, before heading to the nearby Liberty Ball where they danced onstage with the entire Trump family.

Then, they motorcaded to Union Station for the Starlight Ball.

Melania's gorgeous, long black-and-white gown complete with a thigh-high slit was designed by her longtime stylist, Hervé Pierre.

He also designed her inaugural ball dress in 2017, when Trump served his first term.
