Victorian-style property, open since 2005, will feature Disney movie-themed rooms in makeover, with no reopening date set

Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel will temporarily close from October 12 for a comprehensive renovation and upgrade, with no completion date announced, as the resort shifts focus to seasonal culinary offerings and immersive storytelling.
Hong Kong Disneyland announced on Friday that the Victorian-style property, open since 2005, will be revamped with Disney movie-themed rooms, while retaining the hotel’s classic charm.
“As the world’s only Disney resort backed by mountains and facing the sea, this place perfectly blends Disney magic with natural scenery, bringing guests a unique holiday experience,” said Anita Lai Pui-shan, vice-president of communications and public affairs.
“The renovated hotel will retain its classic charm while integrating immersive story experiences, innovative design and better service, further consolidating Hong Kong Disneyland’s leading position in regional tourism.”
The closure leaves the resort’s two other properties to absorb demand. Disney Explorers Lodge offers 750 rooms while Disney’s Hollywood Hotel has 600 rooms.
Lai noted that average occupancy across all three hotels exceeded 80 per cent during the recent summer holiday, in line with the broader Hong Kong market.
