Hong Kong police have issued two appeals for the public’s help to find a pair of 15-year-old twin sisters who were reported missing after leaving their Cheung Sha Wan home separately in a span of a week.

The force issued pictures of the missing teenagers Kong Wing-ki and Kong Wing-yan on Monday, with the message that anyone who knew of their whereabouts should contact officers from the Kowloon West regional missing persons unit.

In one appeal, police said Wing-ki was last seen at her home, a flat on Un Chau Street in Cheung Sha Wan, at around midday on October 9.

According to the force, she was carrying her Hong Kong identity card, mobile phone and some cash when she left home.

In an appeal to find Wing-yan, the force said the girl also left the family’s flat, but at 12.45am last Wednesday, a week after her sister’s disappearance.

Wing-yan had a mobile phone but did not take any identification documents with her when she left home, police said.
