A Hong Kong tour guide was killed when the coach taking him and more than a dozen travellers to the Shanghai Pudong International Airport crashed on a highway on Friday.
The accident took place at around 2pm at the end of a six-day trip by the 16-member tour group organised by Miramar Travel.
The coach crashed into a road barrier and the tour guide was thrown from the vehicle, according to media reports.
The travel agency’s director of marketing strategy and development, Alex Lee Chun-ting, said he was still gathering information.
“It was the last day of the trip. They were travelling to the [Shanghai] Pudong International Airport,” he said. “They were on a highway but somehow [the bus] crashed. Our Hong Kong tour guide was killed in the accident.
“We have contacted his family and we are trying to offer them help as much as possible.”
