A 94-year-old woman has died after being struck by a garbage truck in Hong Kong’s Eastern district.

Police said the driver was reversing the vehicle near a school at 3 Harmony Road in Siu Sai Wan at around 1.31pm on Saturday when the woman was hit and became trapped underneath.
“The truck was backing up towards a school, where it struck the victim,” the force said. “She was trapped under the vehicle and was certified dead at the scene.”
Police said the 67-year-old driver had not been arrested.
