“Hope His Career Is Over”: MAGA Celebrates Its Boycott Succeeding as Woke Alan Ritchson Faces Box Office Bomb for His Pretentious New Movie

MAGA supporters who vowed to stop watching Alan Ritchson celebrated after the “Reacher” star’s new movie collapsed at the box office. “Motor City” opened to just $1.69 million domestically before stalling at roughly $3.03 million worldwide against a reported $30 million production budget. The disastrous performance followed another profanity-filled rant in which Ritchson attacked President Donald Trump and made wild and unsupported claims against him.

The controversy erupted during a late-July appearance on Josh Horowitz’s “Happy Sad Confused” podcast while Ritchson was promoting “Motor City.” Ritchson said some people consider him a “loose cannon,” but claimed he was simply willing to say what others would not. The exchange shifted to the government’s release of records connected to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Ritchson demanded greater transparency before turning his anger directly toward Trump. “These f—ing rapists! We’re just cool with it?” he said. Ritchson then referred to Trump as someone with access to nuclear weapons and declared, “He’s, like, all up into 13-year-olds. Like, dude, what? Go to jail.” He presented zero evidence during the interview to support his wild allegation and made no apology or retraction during the appearance.

The White House quickly pushed back against the actor’s claims. White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson told Entertainment Weekly that Trump had been “totally exonerated on anything relating to Epstein.” She also pointed to the administration’s release of thousands of pages, cooperation with a House Oversight Committee subpoena, and Trump’s signing of the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

“Motor City” arrived in 1,600 domestic theaters on July 24th and earned only $1,693,905 during its opening weekend, according to The Numbers. That amounted to an average of $1,059 per theater and placed the movie ninth for the weekend. Its weekly earnings then dropped 84% as the theater count plunged from 1,600 to 600, and its domestic total eventually stopped at $2,713,586.

The R-rated movie stars Ritchson as a Detroit factory worker who is framed for drug possession and later escapes prison to pursue revenge. Shailene Woodley, Ben Foster, Pablo Schreiber, and Ben McKenzie also appear in the nearly dialogue-free thriller, while Ritchson is additionally credited as a producer. Trump supporters treated the numbers as confirmation that alienating the action star’s core audience had consequences.

“Was a big Reacher fan until he shot his mouth off,” one X user wrote. “Will never watch anything he’s in. Hope his career is over.” Popular account Catturd similarly celebrated: “LMAO — His new movie flopped — the Trump curse remains undefeated.” Actor Kevin Sorbo said, “You’d think he’d be smart enough to keep his mouth shut because fans of Reacher happen to also be right-wing. But nope.”, while Dean Cain jokingly advised him to take an entire bottle of “Trumpenol” that “cures Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

Filmmaker Mike Binder said, “Why would this guy do this? Why would he piss off half the public as he builds a career? I saw him mouth-sh—ting in some interview and I felt bad for him but worse for the folks that bankrolled him.” Tim Pool said “Its wild how many of these people can’t articulate why they are mad”, while Stella X accused him of “promoting violence against more than half of America.” another user described his comments as “outlandish, false talking points,” with another asking, “What’s wrong with this creep?”

The backlash also spread to Ritchson’s future projects. Mark Meckler questioned Angel Studios for casting him in the upcoming movie “Runner,” writing that viewers should be “running from Angel.” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton described the podcast appearance as “more unhinged and violent rhetoric” targeting Trump.
