The brother of hostage Or Levy, Michael Levy, spoke at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), marking the first of such speeches at the UNSC since the start of the war on October 7.
"Hamas has not only grossly violated international law but has also attacked humanity itself," Levy told the UNSC, according to Ynet. "This is a violation of the principles this council has pledged to uphold. Your silence is deafening. I refuse to accept this message; I refuse to accept a world where my brother can be forgotten. This is your moment to act and show the world that you have the courage to stand up for what matters."
"I stand here before you not only as Michael Levy but as a brother, a human being, and someone whose life has been shattered by unimaginable loss and despair," Levy said. "My brother, Or Levy, is one of 100 hostages held in Gaza for 439 days—days of fear, sorrow, and a silence that echoes louder than any words."
Or was taken hostage from the Nova Music Festival. His wife was murdered, and relatives are raising their three-year-old son.
