How the royals will mark Meghan Markle’s 45th birthday amid feud — and which family members could snub the duchess

Some royal family members will likely acknowledge Meghan Markle’s 45th birthday, while others may give her the cold shoulder amid her ongoing estrangement from her in-laws.

Prince Harry’s dad, King Charles III, will very likely send his birthday wishes to the Duchess of Sussex on her big day Tuesday, royal commentator Tom Sykes exclusively told Page Six.

“The king is a scrupulously polite man, and I’m quite certain he would wish to send his daughter-in-law his birthday wishes,” Sykes said.

Royals expert Kinsey Schofield agreed, telling Page Six that she expects that Charles will “quietly” send a birthday card or modest gift “through his staff” to Markle.

“Charles has always had a compassionate streak, and despite everything that’s happened, he has rarely gone out of his way to be overtly unkind toward Meghan,” she said. “A discreet gesture would be entirely in keeping with his character.”

However, Sykes believes that Harry’s brother, Prince William, and his wife, Kate Middleton, won’t be reaching out.

“I don’t think they will be expecting any [birthday wishes] from Prince William and Catherine,” The “Royalist Substack” author said.

The podcast host of “R is for Revenge Dress” also thinks the Prince and Princess of Wales will not acknowledge Markle’s birthday “in any capacity.”

“The relationship simply isn’t there anymore,” Schofield said. “They believe Meghan played a significant role in the breakdown of family trust, and I think any suggestion that they’re secretly exchanging birthday wishes belongs more in the realm of wishful thinking than reality.”

As for whether the royal family is planning on acknowledging the “Suits” alum’s D.O.B. on Instagram, Skyes said there’s zero chance.

“Birthday wishes to a private citizen would be sent privately,” he explained, referring to Markle and Harry’s choice to resign from their royal roles in 2020.

“There’s absolutely no way anything will be put on social media feeds or anything like that,” he added.

Schofield furthered that the royal family has consistently reserved official birthday wishes for working royals.

“Harry, Meghan, and their children haven’t been included in that policy for several years,” she pointed out, adding, “Palace officials would tell you it’s protocol, not personal.”

Harry, 41, and the As Ever founder are notably in the process of making amends with Charles, and even visited the reigning monarch and his wife, Queen Camilla, with their two kids — Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5 — in a private gathering last month.

The reunion, which took place at Highgrove House in the UK, was the first time the Sussexes and their kids met with Charles and Camilla all together in four years.

While a source told Page Six that the audience “wasn’t entirely warm and fuzzy,” Harry and Charles have been working on easing tensions after the 77-year-old king revealed his cancer battle in 2024. Harry is even reportedly expected to return to the UK in September, with the opportunity to stay in a room at Buckingham Palace.

The strained relationship between Harry and William, however, appears to remain on ice.

Last year, Markle celebrated her 44th birthday with family and friends at Beverly Hills hotspot Funke.

“Blowing out the candles on a beautiful 24 hours, and thanking my husband, friends and family for making it so special,” Markle captioned an Instagram photo of herself blowing out the candles on her birthday cake at the time.

“To those of you I don’t know, but who send love every day — thank you so much. Please know I feel it and appreciate it,” she added.

The “With Love, Meghan” star notably did not receive any public birthday love from the royal family in 2023.

In fact, there have been no public posts about her birthday from the Palace since she and Harry stepped back as working royals and moved to California.
