There’s a great deal to see and do in the game made by one developer, with dozens of systems and mechanics all there for players to figure out. If you’ve been diving into the game in early access, there’s no doubt plenty that’s left you stumped.

One such aspect is the trash found littered all over the city. At first, you might look past it all. But it turns out, there’s a way to interact with it and even turn a small profit. Here’s how it all works.

How to start grabbing trash

Junk can be found all around the city of Hyland Point in Schedule 1, but you can’t start grabbing it right away. In order to begin collecting junk, you first need a specific tool.

Your first step is to go visit Dan’s Hardware store, just next to the pizza place at Hyland Range. From here, you’re able to purchase the Trash Grabber tool. While it has a $20 price tag, it’s worth bearing in mind you can’t pay with cash at this location; Dan only accepts your debit card.

No, you are not able to sell items you’ve gathered in Schedule 1. Only junk can be sold in exchange for money.
